Cross Discipline - Business
The Bachelor of Innovation (BI) is different than a normal Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. BI classes are team-taught, and forces students to “turn ideas into impact”, the true definition of innovation. This degree broadens student’s horizons by also utilizing a Cross-Discipline. This Cross-Discipline works as a minor, but within the degree itself.

My name is Justin Bramman and I graduate from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Springs in May of 2023. I have a Bachelor of Innovation (BI) in Communications - Digital Filmmaking, with a Cross-Discipline in Business.
Being an innovator, I am faced daily with my own determination to turn ideas into impact. Working towards a goal, whether it be personal or professional, is easy for anyone to do. I am different, when working toward a goal I challenge myself to figure out how I can be successful and help others reach their goals along the way. When I was growing up my father would always tell me “Do everything in your life with quiet confidence”. Always keeping this in mind, I never do anything in my life seeking recognition. In the film industry, you have to continuously be a creative and motivated innovator to be able to get others to follow you. At the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the Bachelor of Innovation (BI) degree, being immersed in real-world experiences, with a team, is an aspect of any degree path you choose. Putting students in situations that challenge them and force them to grow as an innovator is the pinnacle of the BI program.
With this drive for innovation, I want to make my impact on the world by capturing content that makes an audience feel emotions. Anyone can download an editing software and put images on a screen, it takes an innovator to tell a story and make audiences feel like they benefited from your creation. This is the kind of work that I produce and want to continue to put out into the world for years to come. Creating videos is how I make my impact on the world, content creation allows me to push the limits of my creativity. The thing I love most about video creation is that I can work with the same clips and create multiple videos that give the audience different emotions. I ponder all the time at the fact that two creators could be given the same footage to tell the same story and they will create two pieces of work that are different in some way. I work every day to differentiate myself from anyone else in the industry. This passion for excellence carries me into the future by never settling for where I am in life. I continue to push myself to be better every day one way or another. This is a value of mine that I hold dear to my heart, my fraternity Alpha Sigma Phi has an open motto, “To better the man”. This means that every day I am pushing myself and the ones around me to be better than they were when they woke up that morning. I carry this kind of attitude into the workplace. When working in a team, I push everyone to become thought leaders instead of wallflowers, benefiting the narrative of whatever discussion is in progress.
Getting my degree in the Bachelor of Innovation (BI) I perfected the ability to work and coordinate with others who have different backgrounds and degrees than I do. Not only is working on a team an enjoyable challenge for me, but I also often find that the people I work with end up becoming my friends. In the future, I want to be able to carry this kind of environment into my workplace because I truly believe that an enjoyable work environment helps employees produce more quality work. I know that when I am put in the right position, not only will I succeed, but the ones around me as well.
I am a 22-year-old self-motivated individual seeking a sports marketing or content creation position. Looking for a spot that allows me to utilize my leadership and creative capabilities. I have experience in customer relations, studio marketing production, live game event presentation, managing post-production workflow, and social media management. I am currently working toward a FAA sUAS aircraft license for commercial use at live-streaming events and other productions. Working in the film industry means you need to know how to bring your creativity to life. Taking what you see in your mind and making it a reality on screen is the challenge that all video producers come across when creating content. Being in the BI (Bachelor of Innovation) pushes me to find new ways to bring forward solutions to problems that other people tend to give up on when faced with.
I played baseball growing up and sports have always been a huge part of my life. Being an only child, baseball was an easy way for me to have my own band of brothers. Not only did baseball give me a group to lean on, but it showed me what it means to be a leader and an honorable man. It is for these reasons that I want to be involved in the sports entertainment industry. Being able to make my own impact on people like baseball had on me is what I seek to achieve with my work. My innovative process doesn’t involve creating a new product, it is the ability to create success, especially with a team. In the creative industry, if you want to make a name for yourself you cannot just be a lemming. To turn an idea into impact, you must be the person that is itching to find new ways to express your creative capabilities. This is whom I have become over my four years in the Bachelor of Innovation.
In the future, I will make an impact through my innovation by capturing videos and creating work that makes others want to make their own impact. Being able to create videos for clients gives them more of a reason to be the best at what they do.
